Hillcrest will be offering Upward Basketball and Cheerleading for boys and girls in 1st through 4th grades.
All practices and games will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church MPC (Gym).
The program will be similar in all respects to what we have done in the past. Emphasis will be on learning skills, team work, and most importantly learning about God.
The season starts in mid December with two weeks of practices and then in January with 8 weeks of practices and games. We complete the season with Awards Night on Tuesday, March 4th.
The cheerleading program will only be for girls in 1st through 4th grades. Cheerleading spaces are limited this year, so please register early.

Hillcrest Hoops is our league for 5th and 6th grade boys and girls. Hillcrest Hoops will incorporate the best of UPWARD (devotions and “Game Plans”) while incorporating a more competitive style that focuses on preparing kids for middle school basketball.
What do we mean by “competitive”? For the most part, games will be played with real basketball rules: double-teaming, zone defenses, trapping, free substitutions, and clock stoppages are allowed. This does not mean it will be “win at all costs.” There will still be some defensive limitations, and each player will be guaranteed a minimum amount of playing time.
The Austin Toros will be conducting a Players’ Clinic on Tuesday, January 8th (6:30pm-7:45pm) for Hillcrest Hoops players.
Our Championship Tournament will be played on February 29 and March 1. The tournament championships will be played on the Austin Toros home court the afternoon of March 1st. All players will receive vouchers for the Toros Game on March 1st and will be able to participate in the High Five Tunnel.
